It's confusing, having two passions! On one had, I'm in love with music. Playing my flute, either solo or with an ensemble, I feel in my element. Then again, I feel that art is my natural ability. I have to work at music to get better...my art seems to improve effortlessly. So, even though I'm majoring in music education, I still have art pulsing through my veins.
Tonight was great for inspiration! I've always found that other people's passions encourage my passion for art. For example, dance. I love dance, yet I am not a dancer myself. What I get from it is a thrill that inspires me to draw, or paint, whichever. Music is similar, a good song or piece generates ideas for artwork through my head. I love it!
I really want to get my hands on a set of watercolored pencils and try my hand at that. There is something about water that I can't live without. Ha, even though I'm a firery Leo, I still find myself in love with the water. I often use water in my paintings to create a soft feel, since I've always been kind of afraid of the watercolors that come in a pallet. But I'm great with colored pencils! I think watercolored pencils will really take my art to the next level. Since I know I will never get into graphics I feel I must make up for it in traditional drawing to compete here on DeviantArt, hahaha. More to come!
